polaroid hunt

So, I did get back into the concrete jungle today. I had the best of intentions of going to the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Anthropology & Archeology for personal enrichment, but instead found myself traversing the same roads as yesterday, and a lot of new ones. It was a polaroid hunt. A two-hour polaroid hunt. At the end, I'd left my good intentions five intersections back, right around the time of the illegal U-turn, and needed a good stiff drink of water. But I'd captured some big ones. I headed home and worked on some altered book-work.
And, I just got a massage. I get one about once a year. Because, you know, it's hard to be good to yourself and all that. And I tend to talk a lot during massages: it's really hard for me to simply receive it, even though I paid for it! I did much better with that this time. Zipped my lips.

What a day.

Ooh that third one is intriguing. You're making me miss my old polaroid camera! And I love field trips :)

I've never gotten a massage. I've always thought I'd be uncomfortable with it. Now that I'm older, I think I NEED one.

Polaroids are so fun! My fave is the blue hand: It was on a school building and the sounds coming from inside were utter chaos. My massage was great but when I first got a massage (and I've only had a half dozen in 10 years) it is a little hard to relax and totally turn your body over to someone you've never met. Letting go of my inhibitions, yikes!

Brooke, your blog is lovely! I have the same yearly ritual with massages - but I find it so hard to relax too! By the time my mind actually shuts up, I only have 15 minutes left. :o)

Victoria: Thank you! If I could, I'd get a massage every week. I just feel like melting afterwards. But, yeah, during it, I find it my mind is not quite on par with my body; lots of chatter and me telling myself "relax, relax!" Which, as you know, doesn't really work. :)
