{high point cafe, mt. airy}
Somer's back home in Boston, and it was a lovely visit. Visits from good friends are always too short. Life seems a bit happy, appreciative, and also melancholy that, darn it!, she doesn't live closer. I'm looking forward to some hand-written letter exchanges soon.
I'm waiting for the rain today ~ happily looking forward to the time when the scorching sun will slide away to be replaced by heavy gray, the rain drenching the garden, the pavement, the windows ~ and bringing with it a flow of freshening air.
Until then, time to tidy the studio, putting everything into order and thinking through my week and the myriad lists and hopes I'm dwelling on.
What are you enjoying about your Sunday?

Thanks for sharing that...it's wonderful that you have such a great friendship, and that you got to share some really good time together.
We've got two big bags of water balloons and a cheesecake...a few friends are coming to visit with my son for his birthday (22 this past friday)....really...are we getting that much of a storm? Either way it will be good. Have to go check the weather report.
Wow, Cindy, I was just thinking about you ~ was just about to pop over to your blog and see what you've been up to. Funny!
Tim said we were supposed to get rain and I'm going to just believe that he's right. I don't know where he gets his information, though... :)
Have a great time at the get-together! Cheesecake, great idea...with strawberries on top, maybe?
Not much happening on my blog right now ;-).
I came back 'cause I forgot to mention the 5 bottles of Magic Hat Circus Boy...not much of a party...still need to go food shopping...strawberries would be good, or chocolate in some form.
Have you ever tried a 'wheat beer'? I was looking for the Summer variety pack but it wasn't there. Tried this beer last night, interesting...
I think the big rain is coming tomorrow, but maybe Tim has a sense for these things, we'll see.
I guess the think rain isn't coming this afternoon, but I reaaaaaaallly hope it does Very Soon. The beer store on Germantown Ave in Mt. Airy, kind of near the Trolley Car Diner has great beer, and microbrews. For that matter, so does the Trolley Car. I actually don't drink beer ~ But I do know a lot about it because of Tim! It's kind of ironic.
What's Magic Hat Circus Boy? Beer? Cool name.
There was a wren trying to sleep under my porch tonight, sometimes that means a storm is coming and they don't want to be outside. The air has gotten heavier and heavier today, so there must be something on it's way.
I'm not much of a beer drinker either, but there's something about the microbrews and all the possibilities that I like. It's kind of like exploring different teas and coffees for me. I went all the way up to Wegman's in Warminster. It's the only place I've found that has microbrews and sells them by the pack instead of by the case. Does the beer store in Mt. Airy sell by the case?
Magic Hat is a brewery in Vermont. www.magichat.net/
I didn't realize that Circus Boy would be so different, I liked the name too ;-). It was either that or #9, or Wacko, which I think has beet juice in it...
This is actually the first beer I've bought since my son's 21st birthday last year.
Our friend Carter came over. He just bought a house in Wyncote, so now we're neighbors (he was in south philly before). I guess he's not far from you guys.
Also, I am thoroughly enjoying Outlander. I wasn't totally sure at first, but I feel like I am getting pulled in deeper with each page.
Enjoy your night...hopefully we'll get a real doozy of a thunderstorm soon.
Okay, it has GOT to rain now, any second: storm clouds coming in. It's interesting about the wren. I'm sure I've seen things like that too, but can't remember where, or how I knew what the birds were doing.
Yes, microbrews are a lot like teas! So many different nuances and tastes. Tim says Brewer's Outlet (Grmantown Ave,) sells by the case, but The Trolley Car Diner has a huge selection, and sells by the bottle. They have a deli section you can buy stuff at. That place has amAzing milkshakes, by the way...
Outlander sucked me in like a whirlpool. I had to read them all after that one, and there are 5 or 6, all just as long! So interesting, though, the author did a lot of research on medicinal plants and things like that, to be historically accurate.
:)
We've finally got that great weather!
Thanks for the info about the Trolley Car Diner...hopefully I'll be able to get there some day. I'd love to just walk around and visit the yarn store and bead store, and I'm sure lots of others.
Looks like I've started a book that's going to keep me going for quite awhile...5 and a half or so more to go. Have you seen The Outlandish Companion? It's a lot of fun, and shows how comprehensive the whole series must be...amazing! I'm trying to not read too much about the future books, but it is kind of fun to see where it's going.
