finally

It took a few months of plans being foiled but the wood stove's finally in, and the fire's roaring. Mimi has already found her spot close, oh very close, to it. We need yet to finish and refine some things (like cut some brick) but over all we are pleased with it. And warm ~ it's so nice to be warm and inside at the same time. No more wool hats and down vests need be worn in the house any longer...

Cozy fireside nights, we're pleased to meet you.

So so wonderful!

I wish that we could put one in our house, but there is no place for one. So it's wool hats and fleece jackets inside all winter.

Enjoy!

Wow, Lucy really cannot stay away from it. I carried her dog bed over next to it and she has been there all evening, dozing. I think it'll be good for her old hips. And I'm still waiting for the cat to realize she should not jump on it.

It's the best! :) brooke

(maddie, I adore yellow walls!)

brooke, did you install it yourself? was it difficult to install? we are house hunting right now and i would love to place one in our new home. looks amazing! i have always wanted a wood stove. my friend has an old farmhouse with no heat-he uses his 3 woodstoves!

brigitte ~ no, we ordered it through a local company and they had an installer come and troubleshoot; rather a hassle but there were some glitches that we couldn't have handled (like drilling through a foot of brick) so it's worth it. We did build the brick platform, however, and will edge that this week. We're just breaking it in so no huge fires yet as the metal seasons, but soon we hope to heat the whole house! We love it so much. Dreamy ~ like we're camping all the time!! We cannot peel our cat away...
