And that said...I'll be taking a little computer break segueing into a Number 10. I might be found in Boston by the end of the week...I'll be back on Sunday, hopefully with some photos. A mental break is needed if I'm going to be able to think straight when my show's up. I hope you all have a great week!
Now I'm off to eat a scone for dinner and I guess I need to do some packing.
What are your top 3 favorite items to bring when you travel? Mine are: needle and thread to sew things into my journal, a good book that is not escapism but that can be read in short, rich, thoughtful doses, and my travel tea mug. For tea on the go.

Happy Trails to you...hope you enjoy the great wide open spaces and soak in that special solitude. So excited for you and your show too! My 3 must haves for travel: A great book, a scarf/pashima thingy, and granola/trail mix with M&M's. :)
Yes, I agree, some kind of scarf/pashima thingy is essential. It can be comforting or dashing!
journal and favorite pen. scarf a must. and i always bring a couple of bandannas, they are good for SO many things!
oh and happy travels!! enjoy your break :)
Have a lovely and safe trip and good luck on the show! I like to bring a small blanket and an apple.
Happy travels Brooke. I always have a small sewing kit and material scraps with me, my favourite pen and journal, and a book is a must.
Congratulations on winning a sculpture prize last year :~)))
Will write you re kombucha soon ~
oh brooke! all these things make me happy too! i have a massage scheduled for next week--- can't wait to get to it!
hope you're enjoying the hunger games! it was such a great story!
here's just a couple things that make me happy...sun roofs in the car, coffee during breakfast time, reading into the wee hours of the night, hot air balloons, boarding a plane, books, books, and more books, jogging down the road, tomatoes with fresh buffalo mozzarella and basil from the garden, opening up the kiln, keira's bare feet, howie's blue eyes, my uggs, and warm and sunny day :) thanks brooke, i love thinking about these things!!!
Im just about to head away on a road trip too, final destination, St Bathans Lake for my sisters wedding. Should be fun. enjoy your holiday.
A book. My purple shawl for the plane. Another book.
Have fun!
Jojo ~ I always have to bring my own pen too. Very important.
Keia ~
Helen ~ I like your list! I brought linen squares with me, and embroidered on them. Thank you about the prize, and I'm excited to hear about the baby soby.
Alfie ~ I'm listening the the 3rd book now, they are riveting, and I'm really looking forward to finding out the conclusion!!
Jenna ~ Nice list! A lot of those things make me happy too. I think opening up the kiln would be very exciting too, to see how things turned out. You've been adding some beautiful tiles to your shop and I spotted one in Somer's kitchen. :)
Veronica ~ Have fun on your trip!! Hope you have a great time.
Elizabeth ~ A book and a purple scarf actually sound essential. I love my purple scarf and often it's the one that I grab to bring along.
Oops, Keia ~ I got sidetracked thinking about your small blanket and an apple, and what kind of trips I would take that on: definitely a car road trip. Blanket for picnics at the campsite and roadside rests. We always bring a bag of carrots and another of baby spinach to munch on too.
