hitting the 9 months mark.

36 weeks
36 weeks = 9 months

Just, whew.

Any words of encouragement? This, while still enjoyable, is getting tough.

Dear Brooke, the biology of it seems to defy encouragement. So overwhelming at times, I know, but I'm thinking about what I would say to my past self if I could, looking back at those slow and strange days.

It's a magical time and you'll never be more fully in touch with your nature, our nature, the parts that fill us with awe and make us feel like we're connected to the stars. I'm pretty sure this is the feeling that inspired us to love the idea of a baby, a human child of God, because there's something so transcendent about creation it's hard not to believe that it's part of something as immense as the biggest thing we can imagine. And it's inside of you.

I would also say it's easy to forget that the incessant preparation, as much as it feels like a compulsion, is a lot of work and you're doing an amazing job of getting ready to welcome your baby. That's so important.

This next little bit of time is going to fly by.

Warm summer thoughts and best wishes,
M

Relax and take it easy - spend time in a way that eases your soul and bones, and do it each and every day in these last few weeks... Once the little one comes along, time to yourself will be a rare commodity, and its lovely to think back on those last weeks of (in my case) reading, swimming in the ocean, taking long afternoon naps, baking, and pottering around the house doing not much at all. Being gentle with yourself in these last few weeks is, I feel, so important : ) best of luck xo

Wow, I can't believe that at this time next month you will be holding your son in your arms, and no doubt I will be here checking in pretty much around the clock hoping for the latest glimpse. xoxo

I've loved watching your journey through this experience. I'm a little over halfway through my first pregnancy and often find myself in difficult moments. Your honesty and peace that you've exuded here throughout your pregnancy has been inspiring and a breath of fresh air for me. So thank you. :)

oh do i ever know. it's just bonkers, isn't it?
i don't even have any fabulous advice, other than taking the time to self-soothe. this is where you get to have whatever you want because you're enormous (and enormously tired). =D seriously, just put your feet up and try to enjoy it. you'll be on your feet quite a bit in the months to come. <3

Oh, it's so close, i'm nervous and excited for you all at once. Others are much more qualified to give sage advice, I'm simply here, sending good thoughts round the clock. Your composure thus far has blown me away.

I believe it's getting tough now, you're waiting already for 9 months. Take your time to enjoy the last days, hours, minutes with your little one inside you, so close together.

Hmmm...I would say use a body pillow if that's at all possible, watch good t.v., satisfy any food craving you might have, little walks, and anything in the water to help take the pressure off!

I am right there with you. But when yesterday I thought it was going to start I didn't want that either, because I didn't feel ready yet. A weird mixture of feelings...
