It's taken me forever to get these developed ~ these film shots are from the babymoon, when Tim and I went to california 30 weeks pregnant with Cedar. We stayed at a friend's house in Santa Monica before heading off towards San Diego and campgrounds the rest of the week. When we arrived at her place after the flight to Los Angeles from Philadelphia, she had a red velvet layer cake greeting the babe. The next morning we rose to a veritable feast of a breakfast ~ those delicious croissants came with us to the Leo Carillo campground and the ground squirrels bit through our tent while we were at the seashore and ate them.
I really cherish being a valued guest at a friend's house. To be a guest to true hospitality feels like an honored responsibility. An ancient tradition. My friend packed us off with a loaded picnic basket (which also started a new tradition for us ~ why had I never camped with a tablecloth before?) and we ate like a king and queen (remember the Stellar's Jay and the truffle cheese?) for the rest of the week.
